Study tour, Ireland

From 25th to 31st of May 2007 study tour in Ireland took place. There were 25 participants in total, among them 17 representatives of IAFE-NRI (FADN Liaison Agency in Poland). In tour took part: prof. A. Kowalski – Director of IAFE-NRI, PhD L. Goraj – head of Agricultural Accountancy Department and Polish representative in FADN Committee in Brussels, PhD M. Wigier – head of Multi-Annual Programme, employees of Agricultural Accountancy Department (responsible for FADN, SGM coefficients calculation and agricultural products research), directors and supervisors of FADN in three voivodship accountancy offices located in Gdańsk, Poznań and Końskowola. Main subjects of the workshop were:

  • farm selection procedures,
  • data collection issues, 
  • FADN organisational scheme, process of collection and control of accountancy data,
  • FADN database on country level, data control and transmitting of data to European Commission,
  • organisation of data collection and range of collected data use for direct costs and SGM coefficient calculation,
  • dissemination of data, for agricultural advisory purposes in particular.

During the workshops participants visited also TEAGASC trial farms and some individual holdings, where meetings with farmers and advisors took place.
