22/06/2026On 19–21 June 2026, the 7th National Field Days took place in Szepietowo—one of the most important agricultural events in Poland, organized by the Podlaskie Agricultural Advisory Centre under the patronage of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The event provided an opportunity to showcase modern technologies, scientific achievements, agricultural advisory services, and practical solutions supporting the development of farms.
The event was attended by representatives of the Institute of Agricultural and Food Economics – National Research Institute (IAFE-NRI): Prof. Marek Wigier, Director of the Institute; Dariusz Osuch, PhD Eng.; Renata Płonka; Łukasz Abramczuk and Krzysztof Kossakowski, Head of the Information and Publishing Department; as well as staff of the Agricultural Holdings Accountancy Department (ZRGR) implementing the Polish FSDN, including Zbigniew Floriańczyk, PhD Eng., Head of ZRGR and Director’s Plenipotentiary for FSDN, and Jarosław Sidor, Polish FSDN Auditor.
At the Institute’s stand, located in the Science and Advisory Zone, information and promotional activities were conducted concerning the Institute’s work, ongoing research, market analyses, and the functioning of the Polish FSDN. Particular attention was also given to the transformation of the FADN system into FSDN. During discussions with farmers and advisors, emphasis was placed on the importance of agricultural accounting, the role of data in assessing the situation of farms, and the benefits of cooperation with advisors.
On the second day of the event, Zbigniew Floriańczyk, PhD Eng., conducted thematic workshops on FADN/FSDN agricultural accounting. The session addressed the importance of accounting data in the economic analysis of farms, as well as the direction of changes related to extending the scope of collected data to include environmental and social aspects. Participants also had the opportunity to test their knowledge by solving a thematic crossword on the principles and functioning of the Polish FSDN system. Prizes were prepared for participants.
The 7th National Field Days in Szepietowo brought together farmers, advisors, representatives of science, administration, public institutions, industry organizations, and companies working for the development of agriculture. The event program included, among others, presentations on experimental plots, demonstrations of agricultural machinery and equipment, livestock exhibitions, competitions, and performances by artistic groups promoting regional culture.
The participation of representatives of the Institute and the Polish FSDN in the 7th National Field Days in Szepietowo was an important opportunity to promote knowledge about the role of data in farm management and to disseminate the system supporting the assessment of the economic, environmental, and social situation of farms in Poland and the European Union.
