Working group meeting at the European Commission

A meeting of the expert working group on the Farm Sustainability Data Network (FSDN) was held at the European Commission in Brussels on 11.02.2025. The meeting, organised by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG AGRI.A.2), was held in a hybrid format. The meeting was attended by representatives of the FSDN Liaison Agencies from each Member State.

The meeting discussed, among other things, the status of the 2023 data, the revisions to the Typology Handbook (RI/CC 1500) and the issue related to the funds allocated to Member States for the transformation of FADN into FSDN. Proposed revisions to the Methodology Handbook, which precisely defines the scope of the farm return for 2025 (Draft Farm Return Definitions – RI/CC 1680), were also presented. Issues and incentives for farmers cooperating with the FSDN were also discussed. The information and promotion campaign conducted by the European Commission in connection with the transformation of FADN into FSDN was presented.

The Polish representative, Dr Z. Floriańczyk, presented the challenges facing Poland in connection with the conversion of the system and the tasks to be carried out in this respect, in particular with regard to incentives for farmers and advisers to participate in the FSDN system.
