As regard with the implementation of the EU project “Establishment of the Serbian Farm Accountancy Data Network,” from 27th to 31st of October 2014 IAFE-NRI hosted 14 delegates from the Republic of Serbia involved in the implementation of the above mentioned project. The project is implemented by a consortium led by Polish limited liability company NIRAS IC. The main objective of the project is to establish a well-functioning structures of FADN in Serbia in compliance with EU standards and Serbian legislation. Moreover, the project aims to strengthen the skills of administrative bodies in Serbia to perform tasks of FADN.
Among the delegates were representatives from the Serbian Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Protection, Paying Agency, Central Statistical Office, agricultural advisory centers and other institutions involved in the creation of FADN.
Number of different topics were brought up during the Serbian visit i.e. organization and data collection from agricultural holdings, multi-level data quality control, data processing, farm return, reports provided by Polish FADN to farmers, data dissemination and trainings.
The visit in Polish FADN allowed the delegates from Serbia to familiarize with the organization of the FADN system in Poland at different levels of its operation. In particular, delegates from Serbia had the opportunity to get familiar with the operation of the FADN at Liaison Agency (which is IAFE-NRI, Agricultural Accountancy Department) and one of the accounting offices which is Agricultural Advisory Centre Szepietowo (Podlaskie). In Szepietowo our guests got a chance to meet with advisors as well as farmers keeping accountancy for Polish FADN.
