On 25–26 May 2025, the third edition of the ‘Science for Society’ Congress, an event showcasing the accomplishments of Polish research institutes, took place at the Warsaw University of Technology. It was organised by the General Council of Research Institutes.
The Congress aimed to emphasise the role of science in shaping modern society, presenting implementations that have a real impact on citizens’ quality of life. A key highlight of the programme was the presentation: ‘List of the One Hundred Most Important Scientific Implementations’ — a list of projects selected by the Expert Group as crucial to the country’s development. This list will be included in the catalogue of the most important scientific implementations of the 21st century, to be submitted to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
Representatives from IAFE-NRI also attended the Congress, including the plenipotentiary of the Director for FSDN and the Head of the Agricultural Holdings Accountancy Department, Z. Floriańczyk, PhD. Dr Floriańczyk promoted the transformation of FADN into FSDN, accenting the importance of the expanded scope of data collected from farms for the programming of national and EU agricultural policies.
