Polish FSDN at the 30th PACIOLI Workshop in Austria

In 1–3 June 2026, the 30th anniversary PACIOLI Workshop took place in Schladming (Austria), serving as an international forum for the exchange of knowledge, experience and good practices in the collection, processing and use of farm‑level data, including within the European FADN/FSDN system. The event brings together representatives of institutions responsible for the functioning of FADN/FSDN systems, the scientific community, and experts involved in agricultural policy analysis and design, from both EU Member States and non‑EU countries.

Representatives of the Agricultural Holdings Accountancy Department at IAFE–NRI participated in the workshop: Zbigniew Floriańczyk, who presented work on forecasting the performance of FSDN farms using indicators from the Economic Accounts for Agriculture, as well as Beata Malanowska.

The programme included thematic sessions covering, among others, the use of FADN/FSDN data in the design and evaluation of agricultural policy, the acquisition of farms for data collection, the implementation of FSDN in individual countries, and methodological issues such as farm typology and data analysis. Discussions also addressed the economic, environmental and social dimensions of farm performance, as well as the development of IT systems supporting data collection and processing.

An important part of the workshop consisted of working group sessions and expert discussions, which enabled the exchange of experience among representatives of Member States and research institutions. The delegate presented the findings of the session on the use of statistical and administrative data sources for the FSDN, highlighting the challenges posed by legal and technical constraints.

The PACIOLI workshops provide an important platform for international cooperation and for the further development of methods for data collection and analysis in support of agricultural policy and the sustainable development of the agricultural sector.
