Polish FSDN study visit to Italy

On 14–17 December 2025, representatives of the Polish FSDN participated in a study visit to Italy. The purpose of the meeting was to exchange experiences in the transformation of the FADN system into FSDN and to learn about the economic and IT solutions used by the Italian FSDN to collect and process data from agricultural holdings.

During the visit, issues related to the development of tools supporting FSDN data collection, ideas for improving data collection (including integration with administrative databases) and planned activities in the use of FSDN data were discussed. In addition, participants exchanged experiences on activities that would encourage farmers to participate in the system.

The Institute of Agricultural and Food Economics – National Research Institute was represented by employees of the Agricultural Holdings Accountancy Department: Dr Zbigniew FloriaÅ„czyk, Head of the Department and Director’s Plenipotentiary for the FSDN, Adam Smolik, Sandra Jastrzewska and Justyna Å»urakowska.

The visit also included a national meeting of the Italian FSDN with the participation of 20 regional coordinators, during which Adam Smolik presented the Polish FSDN system and plans for its development, while Luca Cesaro, national coordinator of the Italian FSDN, presented the current situation and priorities of the FSDN system in that country.
